Well, that was not the plan!

Summer, 2014 it was oddly hot and humid, though being me I was cold as always. I was sitting on my back porch with my laptop, writing my novel, and soaking up the sun when I realized. “It is only one week until the convention!” I fell out of the chair almost in a panic, sweating from the realization that i had neglected to worry about my costume. I had at one point planned to be linked with my friend who was dressed as Zelda, I figured it would be easy to buy one, not so much. 150 dollars, 200 dollars.

I called my friend and told her it wasn’t happening, But I still wanted to be in costume, so with a heavy heart I prayed as i typed into amazon “Lolita cosplay.” It was infuriating looking at the various costumes, all french maids and all far too expensive. Lucky for me one just in my range showed up, twenty-five dollars and it looked relatively cute.  Picard help me i was wrong. It arrived, it was a shirt with a little bow tie, with a jacket the entire collar was covered in sequins, and spanks. Yes spanks those little dancing shorts or rather biking shorts. I bought a pink bob wig, and tights. why, oh gosh Why!

It was the most embarrassing thing was I had known i was going to need a costume months in advance! There was no denying it then, if i had every had a doubt in my mind, i was a procrastinator. I always seemed to put things off, homework, projects, and even getting a costume!  I failed because I couldn’t, or rather wouldn’t plan for it.  Even when i had more time than anything. Perhaps it was having more time than wits that ruined my first convention. Not to say I didn’t have fun I just got tired of being called “Stephanie.”

Now I keep better track of the dates, and I make sure to get things done, no matter what! After all, how embarrassing! I am going, hopefully  to another convention this summer, but this time I planned ahead. I have my mother reminding me, and Zelda won’t let me forget either.  I’ve learned when i procrastinate that I can ruin not only my good time but make my friend a little upset too, She never said it, but I know she wished I was Link. Or at least not a look alike to Stephanie from Lazytown. This year, we will go as Slytherin and Hufflepuff, This year I won’t wait until the last minute

Do people with physical disability apear? How are they portrayed

I watched some episodes of Avatars the last Air bender. The show that I know all my friends ran to the TV to watch. I used to see it as a silly little cartoon. I can Reamber just a few years back, rushing to the television just to see my favorite character.

Toph,  a young blind girl. She was the strongest character on the show, offten showing up the boys with her mischief nature. I never realized how strong she was. She was capable and portrayed as the strongest character all together. She made up for her blindness by feeling vibrations trough her feet and hearing.

Also later in the show the group meets a young man in a wheel chair who rigs his chair so he can glide, he's shown to be smart and capable of anything. Even thwarting his father in helping the evil fire nation.
